Matesi Gallery Website

Building Matesi Gallery

I recently completed a project close to my heart: designing and developing an online painting gallery for my mom, an accomplished still-life artist. The website, matesi-gallery.com, showcases her beautiful still life paintings, capturing the essence of fruit, flowers, and everyday objects.

This project was more than just another development task. It was a labor of love, blending my passion for front-end development with my admiration for my mom’s artistic talent. From the initial concept to the final product, the website reflects a combination of visual elegance and functional design, aimed at providing art lovers with a seamless and enjoyable experience.

One of the main challenges was designing a layout that highlights the artwork while keeping the user interface intuitive and responsive. I used a combination of Next.js, Mantine UI, and Tailwind CSS to create a gallery that not only looks stunning but also performs well on any device. The carousel and painting detail pages allow visitors to appreciate each artwork with detailed descriptions and high-resolution images.

The color scheme and typography were carefully chosen to complement the still life paintings, creating a calm and artistic atmosphere on the site. I wanted the focus to be entirely on the artwork, so the design is clean and minimal, allowing the colors of the paintings to stand out.

This project was a rewarding experience not only for the technical challenges it presented but also for the personal connection it brought. Creating a digital space where my mom’s passion for painting can be shared with the world was incredibly fulfilling. I’m proud to have brought her art online and look forward to seeing how the gallery helps her reach a wider audience.

Visit the gallery at matesi-gallery.com to explore her collection of still life paintings and experience the beauty of her work firsthand.
